Chris's Crosses

A Christian Family Giving
We have setup our site, Chris's Crosses "A Christian Family Giving" in order to be a tool in our charitable efforts. We in no way are hoping for praise or accolades for the things we do, we just do them out of love and generosity. As a family, we enjoy helping others wherever possible. We hope you enjoy our stories and if you are so incline to join our philanthropic crusades, we invite you to do so, who knows you might even start your own? There is a world of hope waiting out there for many; even the smallest gifts can make a huge difference.

Our Story

Our Story – who we are and why we do this…

Our love of God and our son Ethan, who was diagnosed in 2001, at age eleven, with a lesion (AVM – Arterial Venus Malformation) in the center of his brain. Following surgery, he suffered a stroke leaving him in need of complete rehabilitation and around the clock attention. Wende (Mom) quit her job as a school teacher to stay home with our, by then, two children, and to be there for Ethan during his recovery. During this time Wende started making sand crosses and selling them to friends, family and at craft shows. Our crosses have turned into a blessing for us and others, and have given us the ability to fund ongoing medical treatments. With many prayers and the grace of God, our son is fighting, and he seems to be winning. He is still undergoing periodic Gamma Knife radiation at Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas.

We would like to thank everyone for their help and support. We also want you to know that portions of our proceeds go to Ronald McDonald House of Houston, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Children’s Miracle Network, and Make-a-Wish Foundation as they have all been instrumental in our son’s recovery process.

It is our sincere hope that you know you are blessed, as we know we are, and that you remember to pass it on each and every day.

This website is dedicated in memory of our son Ethan (Hobbes) Parsley, 9/25/1990 – 3/20/2010, Remember the smile…
