November 21, 2009 we had a great day attending the Make-A-Wish Walk For Wishes. It was a blast.
Race for Wishes is a community event where participants, ‘wish’ kids and families along with volunteers take big strides to make more wishes come true. Every dollar raised from this fun-filled event will go directly to fulfilling the wishes of our West Texas children. Our child Ethan is one of these kids.
We Laced up your tennis shoes, and started a team to be a part of a race that brings hope, strength and joy to the lives of West Texas children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition.

Twenty five miles in the Texas hill country. Starting in dripping springs, going on a twenty five mile loop through the hill country of Texas. This was our first bicycle tour. It was a blast! LiveStrong Challenge is a worthy cause dedicated to fighting cancer. We raised over six thousand dollars for the foundation. This was a joyous event raising enough to attend the LiveStrong dinner at the Austin music hall, where we had dinner with Lance and listened to inspiring stories about the fight against cancer.
Saddling up at seven in the morning for our 25 mile ride, nerves were a little frayed. Not sure if we could make it or not, it would be the longest ride we have done. Not to mention the hill. As it turned out it was a very fun and exhillerating day. Beutiful scenery, Texas longhorns in high grass fields, limestone ranch houses all along the way.
Comming accross the finish line was a wonderful feeling. The best part was the giving because that is what it was all about.
