Our latest philanthropic crusade, Pathways Youth and Family Services
——————————————————————————————————————————-
Update:
The Pathways project was a success! The team at Pathways was extreamly excited about the room and they wanted us to pass on their gratitude for everything that was done.
I want to thank the members of Fannin Terrace Baptist Church – Midland, the members of The Orchard Church – Midland, West Texas National Bank, as well as all the individuals that helped make this project come together. You guys are awesome!
We raised over $1011.39 in monetary donations, plus approximatly $600.00 in funiture and fixtures.
Here are the before and after pictures. I meant to get the before pictures with the old furniture in place, but we jumped the gun and moved everything out before I remembered to take the pictures.

Wende and I are currently working with Pathways to foster/adopt another child. In order to adopt, candidates must endure hours upon hours of training. The Pathways training room is in need of a serious makeover and since they run on a very tight budget it will not happen without some help. This is where we come in…
Pathways is a Texas-based non-profit social services organization dedicated to creating environments where children and families thrive. They provide a wide array of social services including adoption, foster care, counseling, therapy and other in-home services. For more information on Pathways visit http://www.pathway.org/servicecenters/midland.html
There are currently over 25,000 children in the state of Texas living in foster care or youth shelters. Pathways is dedicated to finding these children “forever homes”, one child at a time.
The people at Pathways, Midland are wonderful people doing a thankless job while running on a shoestring budget.
We have decided to help out this amazing group.
Our Pathways – Philanthropic Crusade Project …
What we need:
UPDATE: We have scheduled Saturday, March 12th 10:00am to start the work. We will paint the room, clean the carpet, install a new coffee bar area, bring in chairs and hopefully tables if provided (still looking for donations or funding on these).
People – We need live bodies to help paint, rearrange furniture, etc…
I may have this covered, but as always, you can never have too many people. It will be fun! So if you want to join us please contact me via the “Contact Us” on this website.
Furniture –
Chairs – Right now they have about twelve chairs that are literally falling apart.
Since these possible adoptive parents have to sit in this training for countless hours, they need comfortable, sturdy chairs.
Tables – They need five large rectangle folding tables.
Decoration – I may have this covered as well. I have a friend that is willing to use a plotter to enlarge black and white pictures of adopted children and/or the adoptive families. We will just need large picture frames to put them in.
Computer – They need a computer capable of running MS Power Point. I have this covered.
Computer Projector – If we raise the funds needed, we can purchase a good in-focus or Epson style projector on ebay.
Electrical Work – The projector will need a power source if hung on the ceiling. I have this covered as well. I have a friend who does electrical work and would probably be willing to help out.
I will do all the setup, configuration and installation of the computer equipment and projector.
Money – This is the easy part. We just need people to donate to the cause. So please, please, please, help us, help Pathways by clicking the “Donate” button. All proceeds will go to the restoration and makeover of the Pathways, Midland traning room. If there are any leftover proceeds they will be donated directly to Pathways, Midland.
